Crib bedding is a wonderful addition to your baby’s nursery, but keep in mind that matching comforters and pillows are not safe or functional for an infant. A minimalist approach to selecting the bedding for your child is a safe bet, and if there is any uncertainty you can always consult a professional pediatrician.
Take stuffed animals and pillows out of the crib – no matter how adorable -before your baby sleeps in it, because they present a suffocation risk. As long as you are watching, your child can play with toys in the crib, but take them out as soon as he becomes sleepy, and make sure they’re out of reach.
A pillow and comforters are appropriate for toddler beds, but by then your child may have a say in the decor.
