Manolo Blahnik developed a passion for style at an young age. Whilst his mother learned to form espadrilles incorporating ribbons, Blahnik watched with interest and enthusiasm. He would scan all of his mothers fashion magazines from cover to back. Blahnik had a deep need to induce involved in the fashion industry.A close friend sent Blahnik to determine Diana Vreeland of Vogue magazine, who thought he ought to pursue a career as a shoe designer. From there he started working as a shoe designer for Zapata. He designed mens shoes for Zapata. In 1973, Blahnik bought Zapata, giving birth to the first Manolo Blahnik store. In 1978, Blahnik launched his first United States assortment for Bloomingdales.Blahnik is that the exclusive designer of every and every Manolo Blahnik shoe, past and present lines included. Blahnik sketches out a design. Then he will carve a cast of his design himself. Only then will an aluminum mould be created, and effectively the look method is complete. It’s up to the staff to make the designs come back to life. Blahniks immense household recognition came from the TV series Sex and therefore the Town, whose cast members wore Manolo Blahniks shoes. From this one show, Blahnik gained an immense amount of exposure within the United States.
