One set of chess pieces were electro copper plated

One of the neatest chess sets that I have ever experienced was created by an artist that my older brother lived with. It had a beautiful wooden board and the pieces were of cast pewter. This was such a cool set not only for the art but likewise for the idea of the civil war chess set, which appeared like something from the Lord of the Rings film, full-scale with dragons, wizards, elves, dwarfs and medieval looking castles.

A set of pieces were metal plated, while the opponent chess pieces were the color of the pewter. I never was able to play on it, but I did have the delight of placing it up at the fine art shows where my brother would attempt to sell their bosses work.
